About
Many years ago, a group of people decided to create an annual festival to celebrate Beltane and the beginning of the growing season. They created Fertile Ground Gathering, which opened its doors in May of 2008, and has been the premiere Beltane event in the Northern Virginia area ever since. Each year, the Gathering attracts people from all over the country to join together in a joyful celebration of the season. For over a decade, a unified team of people has created the ritual arcs for FGG, which are the heart of the event.
Balance
But in all things there must be balance. While the spring greets us with joy and offers us the opportunity to awaken our spirits and experience the summer in all of its vibrancy, there is another part of the cycle of the year that is just as important: the long dark of winter. It is a time for introspection, and journey work, and quiet internal work done as the spirits of the world slumbers, which renews our self-understanding, reaffirms our inner strength, and prepares us for the coming growing season so that we may reawaken each year with vigor and purpose.
Vision
So to provide a complement and balance to our the celebration of spring, which lives up to the legacy and quality of Fertile Ground Gathering, the same team that has brought you the amazing rituals at FGG since 2015 is now bringing you Mystic Fire, a retreat-style event held in the magical foothills of the Shenandoah. Mystic Fire will take you on a journey into yourself, and give you the foundation you need for personal working and understanding. With the tools, experiences and guidance offered by seasoned teachers, Mystic Fire will give you the opportunity to deepen your practice and personal growth through the darker months.
